GOP Rep. Marlin Stutzman met with Netanyahu in Jerusalem last week to hand-deliver him a draft resolution to advance the Israeli PM's plan to shift US aid to Israel into a "partnership" run through the Pentagon that could be immune to political shifts and public accountability.

Netanyahu's plan—which he's trying to ram through Congress before Trump leaves office—is *worse* than our current "aid" relationship, which could potentially end in a few years or so with a simple vote in Congress.

"This was actually something that came from Netanyahu," Stutzman told CNN on Wednesday, citing his recent appearance on 60 Minutes. "He would like to see us move away from the $3.8 billion annual supplement… We've been called it 'aid to trade.'"

"[Netanyahu] was very open and excited to see the resolution!"

Netanyahu thanked Stutzman in a letter for endorsing what the foreign head of state called "my plan" to "shift the framework for US-Israel defense cooperation from aid to partnership."
