And all of it.. every last little piece of it is there because they took your money.
It is sickening to see all of the miles of wasted money stolen form the American taxpayer under they guise of helping people.
Thieves.

For grub hit up old ebbits grill... great oysters, Capitol grille is awesome, highly recommend the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella appetizer. If you’re around the capitol the spectacle is a great little Restraunt. If you want some home cooking I recommend Founding Farmers. Night time cocktails at The W rooftop bar is legit, trump national has a great bar, food and an awesome tasting room. Also the Willard Restraunt and bar is cool.
As far as sights go holocaust museum is moving but that’s all day day deal and very sobering. National history museum, native american history and national archives are some of my favorites. I recommend going to the Canon, Longworth, Hart or Dirksen buildings and walk by the offices of your elected officials, you’ll see a few on the way. Of course the capitol rotunda is a must see. The bus tours are good as is the duck tour. National cathedral is great as is walking through Georgetown, a short cab ride from DC.
There’s lots to do but those are some of my favorites.
ETA changing of the guard at Arlington is a must see.

You know what sucks? I go to DC about 6 times a year and never have time to sightsee.
But... I do go to the Whitehouse, the Pentagon and Langley every now and then for work, so there's that. But, I would really like to spend a week there sightseeing.

Make sure to see the Vietnam Wall and WWII Memorial at night... IMO way more special at night.

Not sure if it’s your jam, but the newly opened Museum of the Bible is spectacular.
