I just asked common sense questions that any CPA would ask. I received literally no answers that would allow an intelligent person to do any calculations to see how these hair brained proposals would affect them.
I’ve literally answered every question you asked me… and you just post elementary school playground insults haha. All the while pretending you are a CPA… sad

Maybe he's trying the election judge approach. "What evidence? Case dismissed!"

No, you didn’t. Sales taxes are notoriously difficult to administer and you dodged questions and lied.
You sound like a Democrat.

Fishing poles-18%
Truck tires-10%

Well if you don't have an exhaustive plan that can be implemented by July 4th, then clearly it's impossible.

Why, so you can dodge it a second time?
Posted on 4/7/21 at 3:05 pm to UncleLester
I mean every move the govt makes is paid for by the taxpayers. It would make too much sense that the taxpayers be the only voters...

Oh, so you admit you can’t? Try harder

This thread derailed like 7 pages ago my man…

Dude, you don’t even know 7 from 7%.

Sure I do. One is the number of wives of the man I met on my way to St. Ives.
The other is a blatant white supremacist hate symbol, you racist.

Liberal was a little too nice of a word and indeed incorrectly used. 99.9% of modern liberals vote Republican. You have to be far left of "liberal," ideologically speaking to be blue.

Neither of you seemed to get it.
Then Squid lied about it.
The point is, none of these "national sales tax" proposals are well thought out.
We have one idiot saying a 20% national sales tax rate is better than his 22% income tax rate. Uh, maybe. Assuming that he spent most of what he earned, maybe so.
Assuming Bezos spends 30% of what he makes on things, which is still far more than 20% of what the idiot makes, Bezos' effective taxes paid are lower - Bezos saves money while idiot pays the same or perhaps even more money.
Because nobody could seem to answer when and on what taxes are applied. Someone said no exemptions, meaning that when you sell your home, boom, 20% federal tax, where there is no tax now. Sell your used car? Boom, 20% federal tax on that, too. Simple question, but frick me, what an asshoe for asking.
I didn't derail the thread on purpose, though I'm sure asking intelligent questions didn't help.
No, I don't think one should have to pay federal taxes in order to vote.

Why can't you just agree with me? is apparently as far as he's going to get.

Ah, now I see why you didn’t respond before… if this is your argument, I’m sorry. I thought at first you were financially competent but I guess I was wrong.
You think me paying 22% on all of my net income is better than paying 20% on good and services? Haha
And I don’t care about what percentage Bezos pays, not sure why you keep referencing him.

I just asked questions. Sales and use tax, once you understand how complicated they are at the state level, don't get all that much less complicated at the federal level.
Most people dodge use taxes, too, lol. Then there are layers of purchases made to produce most of the final products we buy at the store, which would quickly add up if you're not exempting items from tax based on use, which gets complicated. Then there are services, which some states have started taxing and others have not. That gets complicated as well.
People wrongly think that an x% national flat sales tax would be great.
Bezos would love it. He'd pay less taxes than he does now, while many of us would pay the same or more.
