Lindsey had to take a little time to do it but he's laid out a pretty clear foundation for how this wasn't just politically motivated but that it can't be anything but politically motivated.
If there is evidence that Clinesmith changed the email due to being ordered to do so by superiors (and he would be likely to flip), the Democrats will rush to defend him. If there is no such evidence, they will make him a scapegoat.
