So you think that marijuana should be Schedule 1, and opioids Schedule 2? Do you understand the distinction being made? I think you're missing the point I've made completely.

Absolutely. We also need to crack down on docs that give out opiods too freely. One lazy doc decided to give my grandmother opiods that she didnt need for years and it made her a shell of a person. Thankfully my mom finally listened to me and my cousin who is a resident doc to find a new doctor for my grandmother who finally took her off 90% of the meds she was on.

Sounds like you are a gotdamn moron. There is zero benefit to medical marijuana, other than the strains high in cannabinols and low in THC. Getting high wont fix shite. You will just end up with people hooked on opiods and marijuana.

Please do yourself and everyone else here a favor and never post on this topic again.

I remember vividly a bumper sticker I saw a decade ago at Jazz Fest:
"Doctors should teach nutrition
Not pharmaceutical addiction"

You post stuff like this all the time and seem to be ignorant of the fact that the schedule 1 status of marijuana prevents research which would flesh out whether or not it is a good treatment for medical issues outside of the ones we already know it is. You don’t know, I hope you realize, because the research isn’t there.

Yea. I was going to put it in the talk, but the fact that 1 out of 300 people who try it are hospitalized/die is a non-starter for the docs and "medical experts" in the room.

Though, I whole-heartily agree with the benefits from the plant and it's benefit with withdrawals and aid with opioid addictions.

I thought the stat was 1 in 400 that have a pre-existing heart condition?

Totally agree.

B) Ending jail/incarceration for drug users

They're not jailed for using. They're jailed for committing crimes to support their habit.

C) Decriminalizing all drugs

No ... absolutely not.

I do know why the research isn’t there. I also know that the fact that the research isn’t there highlights the inanity of statements like “we’re going to wonder why we didn’t smoke all our pharmaceuticals!!”

You're right.
But, regardless, it's a non starter for those who are in the medical field.

Except that isn’t what he said. Pain processesing is absolutely something that cannabis has an effect on and it does it without the side effects of opiates. Maybe the statement he made as exaggerated, but it’s easy to agree with the sentiment.

Also, before you get too deep on the “smoking” part, that’s not the only way to ingest cannabinoids.

We’ve done this before. It’s not the only way to ingest cannabinoids. But it’s the way that the potheads want to ingest it.

Yes. Cannabinoids affect pain processing. If/when there are clinical trials of marijuana versus opiates, which do you think will have better pain reduction?

This is an extremely ignorant statement. The positives from medical marijuana are huge, you are dumb or just plain ignorant.

No, they’re not huge. They’re comparable to other already available treatments of symptoms.

That’s just a dumb thing to say and it really exposes your bias.
