I’m disgusted that congress will reauthorize FISA-702 Surveillance for the next 6 years.

After all the abuses and spying by the Obama FBI and DOJ on American citizens including Trump himself, he will end up signing the reauthorization bill.

I’m really disappointed.

Of course. But they distract us with DACA sob stories, wall building propaganda, and Trump is fat stories. All the while being soft on Iran and reauthorizing FISA surveillance.

We love our distractions, don’t we folks?

Even Nunes rescheduled the Bruce Ohr congressional testimony today.

Congressional FISA proponents do not want to risk the potential divulgence of FISA abuses while this reauthorization is being voted on...that is, they don’t want to unnecessarily provide ammo to the opponents of FISA.

I don't care that they are re-upping it during Trump's tenure. I hope he uses it and uses it like crazy...BWHAHAHAHA

This. If ANYBODY is ever going to put and end to this, it would be Trump. Alas even he, who was and is in the crosshairs of weaponized government, will keep it.

Shameful.

Makes zero sense how he could keep it unless he plans on using it himself for the people of this nations benefit by exposing the swamp.

Otherwise he desires Americans to be spied in for our protections. Which most of his voters are vehemently against.

Well, one thing is for sure, Trump's Deep State Enemies won't know whether or not they are being surveilled.

Looks like we have an option to choose the lesser of two evils. Google and FaceBook are going to employ AI to intoxicate/addict/propagandize/enslave the useful idiot masses anyway...so...!

I am torn with this. If used per the law, it's a good thing. If you aren't doing illegal shite, then no worries. However, our lovely govt loves to abuse powers so we cannot trust our govt to be honest about the use of this. Double edged sword

The never relinquish power.

Heck, Democrats ranted and raved about the Patriot Act from its inception, then when they they controlled all three branches they extended the power of the Patriot Act.

This kind of mass surveillance isn't about stopping terrorism. It will not stop lone wolf attacks inspired by radical Islam. I don't even believe it's primary purpose is stopping illegality. This kind of bulk data collection is there so that those in the intelligence community can conduct opposition research on virtually anybody if need be and control those in elected office based on said information. Everyone on this site has things about themselves they don't want to be made public that aren't illegal. I mean look at Kennedy's vote. He basically came out and said he didn't like the bill because it couldn't be amended as written, but he voted for it anyway. What did they have on him to make him for a bill he didn't like?

Keep voting establishment GOPers in and this is what you’ll get along with that abortion of a bi partisan immigration bill.

Midterms need to come quick and a lot of them need to be primaried out. It’s a shame the majority of this board now only cares about short term victories and not letting “Dems” take the seat.

It's called pragmatism, M2. It's either/or. If we allow the Dems to legalize all the Illegals...it's game, set and match. At least per the Constitutional Rule of Law version. The Founders abhorred Democracy; now we know why.

Right.

Thats why some law enforcement wants to use the data acquired without a warrant against US citizens.
