Yup. I am stunned. Nothing will be more awful than 2020 but this is creeping closer than I imagined possible. Oof.

Trump backed candidates flopped hard. DeSantis looked like a rockstar tonight.

Not depressed but absolutely surprised. The one thing you can almost always rely on is a huge shift in a presidents first midterm

We allow ourselves to buy in. We are lied to by our our media.

People like Clay and Buck and Glenn Beck who promoted these candidates for months and gave us hope.

To just tread water essentially in the mid terms of a historically bad president says the GOP has a problem.

Part of it is Trump.

Man the frick up bitch. Even if the Rs took the house and the senate, nothing would get done and the media would constantly blame the Rs. You’re a weak minded, delusional bitch

I'm disappointed, but far from defeated.

The road forward is pretty clear. That said, the people who most want the brighter, more conservative future have to let go of figures that do not advance their cause.

I wish Donald Trump well, a figure abused and mistreated, slandered and defamed-- but the hour for him slaying the Hillary dragon came and went.

Its time to do what the Democrats had to do post Clinton- get our shite together, and rebuild around figures who can win Kemp Republicans and Independents. That means swallowing a measure of pride, and realizing that Conservatism means more than any singular candidate.

Its not like there's a huge ideological gulf within the Republican party. The material differences between DeSantis or Youngkin and Trump are significantly smaller than they are between Kemp and Trump.

You can't depend on people holding their nose and voting over their personal distaste to win general elections.

Nope. I did absolutely all I could do. frickery in the voting process or not eventually you just have to come grips with the fact that the vast majority of people in this country are easily manipulated drones. Focus on your family and friends, taking care of your immediate area, trying to get the right people and best choices elected and passed at the local area, build your tribe for when things get hard, say frick all this other bullshite.

Just keep sitting around and doing almost nothing.

Nah. Republicans won in TX.

Taxes and gas will suck but Abbott has done a good job of insulating us from DC’s poor decision making.

If anything, the rest of the country will see what continued Biden policies lead to for 2024.

No. Things don’t always go your way. Not everyone agrees with whatever position you have. The country is speaking. Do I agree with the dems? Nope. But they have their finger on the pulse of the nation better than we do. I think that portends bad things but hey.. it happens.

If at the end of the day we take the house it’s a huge loss to the dems. Whether we have a majority of one or fifty it doesn’t matter. It’s the majority and we set the agenda.

This is probably more about the expectations we had when we woke up versus the results we’re seeing right now. If we get the house it’s a win just not by the numbers we thought. The senate is the icing on the cake if that happens.

At least we all know. We know that our best shot at winning is Desantis. Prior to tonight, I would have likely kept voting for Trump. Now I know who can lead the GOP to victory and I believe it will show many others, too.
