Update.....the guy appeared in court. His statement is he specifically went to the gas station to kill the woman.
Apparently, he was hitting her vehicle with the hammer and it was a planned situation. And (big surprise), he was known to local authorities as a suspect in a different case.
Sounds like he had been to that store very recently -- like two days before.
If I had to guess, he's like a lot of these a-holes that hang around convenience store lots just talking to themselves, harassing people and being a problem -- and nobody ever does shite about it until we reach the current status of this case.
He was known to cops

Is the generic dismissal still "so what if an illegal did this, plenty of Americans also do that."?
That was the dismissal a few years ago whenever an illegal raped or killed someone.

Unless you are carrying, never walk into a situation like that willingly. Stay in the store, call 911. Ask the attendant to lock the doors and wait for police.

Why Do Journalists Use Words Like 'Claimed' and 'Alleged'?
If, for whatever reason, the "alleged" perpetrator is not found guilty in a court of law, they can sue media outlets that described them as guilty ("innocent until proven guilty in a court of law"). Once found guitty, they are referred to as "convicted murderer," etc., for the same reason... the fact is that they were convicted. If later they are found to be innocent or the guilty ruling is overturned, it was not an non-factual statement at the time. It's legally covering asses.

He's only charged with 2nd degree murder. How is this not 1st degree murder? He stated he went there to kill her, he brought the hammer, he used the hammer on her car to lure her out.

4Cubs will tell you the victim was more likely to be killed by a family member than this latest hero of hers.
VOR, Tboy, BeauxDuke will read this story and clap, while shite posting the board with semantics on why this is needed.
This is becoming a daily story in this country, but you gotta break some eggs to make that progressive omlette.
