I’m about to say something unpopular.I sort of agree with her.
My business pays sales tax on each sale (not my law practice - family business. Services are not subject to sales tax - at least in Louisiana I don’t know about other places. Plus, I am the furthest thing you will locate from a tax attorney). Our business invoices the customer for the sales tax and pays the state / parish on receipt of payment from customer.
How do you Baws feel about the elimination of federal income tax (enforced by constitutional amendment), replaced by a federal sales tax on all publicly traded securities and movable goods sold or leased in interstate commerce. Real Estate is exempt from sales tax. If you have to pay a fed sales tax on anything sold in interstate commerce, then Amazon pays a shite ton of sales tax. (Yay. Cuz frick Amazon).
I legit have no idea if this would frick around the economy or not, bc I’m not an accountant and I suck as a bookkeeper.
I’ve always thought it would be the one way to make sure everyone paid taxes, including businesses and foreigners. The price of goods and services would increase, but so would take home income.
Plenty of things are exempt from state sales tax, so Im sure federal sales tax could exempt things like goods purchased for resale, medication or groceries- but not junk food. I feel very strongly that processed foods should be taxed like cigarettes.

That some people get a tax “refund” for more than they actually paid in. If tax revenue is used to fund things for the public good, then dammit, everyone should pay.
