Why does no one mention the fact that these people read that on a statue while on the way to a quarantined island where they were given a physical examination and often sent back to their country of origin?

Despite the litany of guidelines for new immigrants, the number of people denied entry at Ellis Island was quite low. Of the 12 million people who passed through its doors between 1892 and 1954, only around 2 percent were deemed unfit to become citizens of the United States.

Let's make a deal... I'll fully accept the US allowing 12 million immigrants in over the next 62 years and I won't even insist on sending back 2%.

How fricked are we that this is a dream scenario right now? Because I would sign this deal in a heartbeat.

She lied and said her brother was her husband to get in the country.

I enjoy reading your posts. You know, the ones where you try to act superior and use fancy words/phrases and try to put people in their place. And then, you just reveal yourself to be one of the bigger fools on this board. Keep it up. You entertain me as I take my shits.

My ancestors were able to provide proof they would not be wards of the state, hence they were allowed into the country.
Is she admitting her ancestors were deadbeats?

My maternal ancestors were Creole and living in New Orleans before it was America. My paternal ancestors arrived in New England before independence. She can check in when we acquire Somalia. Except we won’t, because it’s a tribal shitehole where work is considered the province of chumps.
All you have to do is not be a burden on the country. Is that standard really too high?

That’s about 193,500 per year. What’s the unmitigated illegal crossings per year more recently?

240,000 is pretty significant.
Say you are in line at a big airport, and one of every 50 persons has a gun in their carry-on bag. Could you say that people were being interrogated/arrested "often" at the airport that day?
