Has your body built a defense, or can you turn around and immediately catch it from someone contagious?
I know it's a young virus, but do they know this yet?

Yes, your body will build up antibodies to it.

Assuming it never mutates, which is not a reasonable assumption, the answer is affirmative.

You get on TV and tell your story of surviving the most frightening disease in the last 50 to 100 years.

Only if it mutates (like the flu), you can catch it again.

Didn’t one of the victims recover and then catch it again? Maybe a cruise ship passenger?

Fat chance of that, buddy; it’s the modern day Bubonic Plague.

According to our near hourly update thread only 8 people have recovered and the total has not moved in two weeks

No. You CAN get reinfected. China and Italy have both reported reinfections among recovered patients.

We don't know yet.
Some people who tested positive and then tested negative tested positive later.
Whether this was because of the nature of the virus or because of faulty testing or procedures, we don't know.

The most impressive thing about the coronavirus is that it led to me discovering that at least 75% of PT posters are epidemiologists. Amazing.

Officials in China reported a 14% reinfection rate, not sure if that's inline with other viral infections or not.

The worst part of this disease is that even if you live through it, you will still eventually die.

unknown, some suggestions say no but it is hoped to be the case.
