This has been a thing in SW and parts of SE Atlanta as far as I can remember. If you think people in the NE Atlanta neighborhoods are putting cages around our AC units you need to get out more.

The wife (no pics) and I were looking at homes Carroll, Douglas, Haralson, and Polk counties in west Georgia a couple years ago. Two of the brand new homes in Carroll County (near Villa Rica) had their A/C units stolen overnight right after they had been installed. It's been going on awhile here it seems.

The Atlanta area has that magical mix of dindus that steal everything because that's what they do, and meth'd out white trash that steal everything to buy more meth.
