All I would know is that my great aunt caught a mysterious disease which killed her. Then my ex-girlfriend's mother would have caught the same mystery disease and it killed her too. After a while we would probably start asking questions.
Do you go years where you don't hear of old people you know getting sick or even dying?

It would have essentially been the same deal as the swine flu in 2009-2010. We would have heard about it. Certainly some people would have died from it. But no one would have gone through their daily routine terrified.

I don't understand how there is no news journalist with enough integrity to talk about this.
Media is playing a role. They are ignoring Biden corruption, pedo evidence, Covid; you name it.....
This is the ole "end justifies the means" being played out. MSM is part of the deep-state cabal and they are all-in.

I live in evidently the first city to get hit and only know of one person that claims to have had it. My girlfriend and I think we had it in February. She's 32 and it was like a flu. I got it from her and it was like a cold and quickly kicked it. I'm 50.
I wouldn't have noticed anything if people acted normal.
It's not a hoax but the reaction seems to be. Why globally?

Sure you do. The primary job of the MSM is to disseminate the talking points of the Democrat party.
It's no more complex an answer than that.

I personally know 1 person that died of corona, and she was pushing 50 and morbidly obese, so if you would have told me she died of anything I wouldn’t have been shocked. I was deeply saddened, but not shocked.
I know of handful that died, relatives of acquaintances, but all were extremely old or in poor health.
I personally know plenty that got it, only 1 was hospitalized, and it was for dehydration, IV administered and sent home, felt fine the next day. Another said it was a month before he felt right again. The rest ranged from felt like shite for a week to asymptomatic.
Even with all that, if it wasn’t hyped I would have thought we had a bad flu year.

If you hadn’t ever been told about Covid
during the early part of this year, would you even know it existed?
Would you even suspect something out of the ordinary?
I do agree that the odds of getting really sick from it are quite low (too low to shut the country down); but this disease ABSOLUTELY is different and unique.
We didn't get flu surges like we got covid surges. I'm not afraid of the flu, I don't want to play with covid. Because while the odds are you will have a mild case, if it hits hard, it goes VERY HARD.
I've had a number of coworkers test positive. Most did ok, a few were hospitalized. I know one guy, a fellow RN, who can't fully recover, he's been back in the hospital due to kidney failure due to the microvascular clots. They had to start dialysis, there was genuine concern he was going to die for a little while. He still ain't healthy enough to go home. We gave each other report as late as June, now his career is toast and his life is fricked up.
I know at least 1 other that died, and a couple more that have been recovering at home for over a month, some having to stay on oxygen 24/7. Unable to return to work.
I hate that this has become politicized. I'm no hero, just a dude doing his job. If you want to give me free shite, sure I'll take it, but if it's more than a cup of coffee or a burger, I didn't earn it any more than I did last year.
The disease isn't the apocalypse, it's not the Andromeda Strain or Captain Tripps from The Stand. But it's absolutely real.
And oh yeah, for the record, gonna be voting for Trump again. I did so in 2016 too.
