No, I said mail in your vote and show up on Election Day, prepared to vote, not vote twice. Your polling place should not allow you to vote if your vote has already been counted.That was my point, although I could see how it was misunderstood.

Well I guess my hypothetical is slightly different.

Let's just say I'm Joe Biden and have dementia and I fill in my mail and ballot and then I can't remember what I did with it.

So I don't want to be disenfranchised and I go in person to vote.

The system should be able to tell me if I had already voted VIA mail in. If it can't then I should be able to vote because I don't know if I already voted or not.

Understand the frustration. But just go vote in person on Election Day, come hell or high water. Or vote early at an actual polling station, wherever your community allows early voting. But if one is mailed in and mailed back and one is also cast in person with the same name, there is the real risk neither will be counted and both thrown out.
BTW, I am assuming it is a given that the mailed in vote will not yet have been counted or tallied. Which is why the two votes under one name might eventually be thrown out and neither counted.

I think what he's saying is that the in-person vote should be treated as a provisional vote just in case the mail in ballot gets lost.

I know. I was just frustrated after watching 60 minutes on CBS and got carried away but don’t think for a second Dems won’t do that. It’s infuriating.. but GaDawg is right.
