2004 - Democrats bitched about voting "irregularities" in Ohio. They gave it up after about a week or so.

This isn't true. 20-30 years ago, vote by mail was viewed as distinctly favoring Republicans because it was mostly military, the elderly and (traveling/working abroad) business people that voted that way. It wasn't until fraud-friendly ballot harvesting became a thing that Dems got enthusiastic about mail-in voting.
