I've said all along that he is more old-line Southern Democrat than he is anything else. I guarantee, if they were still alive, Stennis, Long, Talmadge, Russell, Thurmond, Sparkman and a few more that I can't think of right now, would have been with Trump from the get-go. And oh yea, a few governors like Lester Maddox and George Wallace would too.

If Trump governed as he did for the last 3.5 years and was a Democrat, I would be on TV with my testimonial of being a Democrat who was gonna vote for whichever real REpublican was nominated.

A 90’s Democrat definitely would not have done away with the amount of EPA restrictions on energy production like Trump has or told the Paris Climate Accord to go screw themselves. Or the UN and WHO for that matter.
