If trump is honest and transparent, he would be able to wrap up this investigation quickly.
He tried to say there was no 2016 meeting in trump tower at all and then when it was discovered that there was a meeting with Russians with Sessions and Trump Jr., they changed the story and said the meeting was about adoption.
Why lie and try to hide the fact that there was a meeting at all?

If you know you haven’t done anything wrong, however you know there’s a federal “investigation” digging the corn out of your shite, would you not lawyer up? Be honest for once.
Hell, I’d be on the phone with my attorney with quickness if the Morgan County, MO Sheriff’s department knocked on my door and asked me about some shite I knew nothing about. Let alone the feds.
