semantically - yes - a coup requires military intervention (I think)

this is SEDITION - and ABUSE OF POWER.

Sedition = conspiracy to overthrow a duly elected government

Abuse of power = using your majority in the HoR to fund your election campaign.

This is no more sedition or abuse of power than the entire Star nonsense and entrapping a POTUS over a blowjob.

Were you up in arms then as well or just fine with it because bill was a democrat?

It was then and is now partisan frickery but it certainly is not unprecedented.

It cost them dearly and I hope it rolls these fricking Dems into the ditch of politics.

Right now I wouldn't put it more than 50/50 that the House even votes on impeachment. If they are not sure they have the votes they won't bring it to a vote. They have 31 Democrats in districts in states that Trump won up for reelection next year. They need at least 16 of them to vote for impeachment to have the votes assuming no Republicans vote in favor of impeachment which none will.

I was against that as well.

Thing to remember with that deal is that Clinton actually did do unlawful things that resulted in his banishment from the Bar.

Still didn't think it was something to remove a president for even if I hated the guy.

Not only is it an attempted coup, but it is the second one in 3 years.

Sedition: conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch.

18 U.S.C.A. § 2385 (2000) outlaws advocating the overthrow of the federal government by force.

So I guess you could appropriately say that the poliboard has more than a few seditious far-right posters

You know that would bring some hard times, but I kind of sort of want it if the Ds in the house go through with this BS. There was no crime, hell he is getting impugned for merely DOING HIS JOB!

He's badmouthing the "conspiracy theory" that there was a coup for over 2 years. We've been saying that it's coming since the beginning of Trump's presidency.

What do you want to bet that when indictments start getting handed out he starts telling us that Trump is abusing power and is trying to punish his political enemies for this impeachment fiasco?

Bill Clinton had his license suspended as a plea agreement for lying, his lie was "I did not sleep with that woman".

The Founders established a process in the constitution for removal of the chief executive. They would be quite surprised to learn that the use of that tool constitutes a “coup.”

Right.
So what is the high crime or misdemeanor?

The alleged abuse of power seems to be the low hanging fruit here.

I don't think Trump is going down for this but I hope Rudy G end up with the criminal tag so he can spend a few years hanging out with Roger Stone

"Witnesses" sharing their opinions do not make those opinions fact.

Don't you agree?
