If Putin invades Ukraine why don’t we invade Mexico?

I guess he sees Ukraine as a threat and wants its resources. We see Mexico as a threat (illegal immigration), why not invade and get their resources? Take their oil, destroy their drug cartels. Why the frick not? It will be a tit for tat deal.
We’ll tell Putin, for every country you take we will also. Have at it!

That alone is worthy of invasion!

Because we’re pussies. We should leave Mexico the frick alone. I may want to move there one day. Fighting the cartel would be easier than fighting out government.

This administration isn’t trying to get our old jobs back….

Ukraine has more history as part of Russia than it does as an independent nation. More than 250,000 Russians died fighting in the Crimea during the Second World War and millions more were killed fighting in Ukraine proper. Many Russians see that country as theirs by right.
We have no such history with Mexico. Sure...we waged war against Mexico over Texas and had our issues with them in the early-20th century, but beyond that relations between our two countries have mostly been cordial and independent. You don't just invade a country because they're encouraging their citizens to come to the United States illegally.

More welfare yay!
I do wish we could use some A-10 Warthogs to take out the cartel convoys though. All those guys should be shot on sight

We’re already responsible for enough lazy Mexicans.

Why? It would be like someone coming out with the idea of invading a smelly outhouse. Sure, one could do it, but why?

You going to volunteer since it’s your idea?

The U.S. deep state already controls the cartels and any natural resources Mexico might have. Why have all the cash that flows back north subject to having a spotlight shined on it ?

Why the frick would we want Mexico?
Canada would be a better choice.

Very good idea! I didn’t even think of them. Accolades and Stan Laurels to you!

My idea is to very publicly declare the border wide open. BP disbanded and we can leave those electric bikes at the border for the folks to ride into the country to where they’re going.
Meanwhile, Americans start sneaking into Mexico. Give it about a year and then lock the border down hardcore. Only this time we’re down there enjoying Margaritas and they’re stuck on this side for good.

Why would we want to mess up Mexico like that? Have you seen the leadership in this country?

Now Canada, I can agree with. Less than 40 million populace, a lot of that country is untapped. So we'd also get a lot of resources in exchange for the future funding of their less than 40 mil populace.
Mexico has a populace of over 130 million. Multiple huge cartels are there. Would be a lot of guerilla warfare. Would take a lot of resources to win that war...and if we win, we'd be absorbing in that huge arse population and funding them.

Mexico is not the primary problem. Those illegals are mostly coming from Central America. Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua.
Mexico isn’t enforcing their southern border.
Second Putin is threatening another nation. Mexico is just being Mexico.
