Even if the Democrats are successful in getting a judicial order for Trump to provide his tax returns they would break the law if any member of Congressmakes them public. They canutilize the information to pursue avenues of investigation if they believe there is evidence that he is in volation of his presidential oaths via his business dealings.

They are not the collection arm of the IRS and would have no prosecutorial powers over the accuracy of the returns.

You better believe Trump and the DOJ under Barr would bring the hammer if any member of Congress oversteps the boundary of the law. The Democrats may end up stepping in it again and Trump will use it as one more talking point in his re-election campaign.

I don't think Democrats are worried about breaking the law.

They believe the ends justify their means and they get usually get awa with it because those charged with prosecution are feckless. I am optimistic they are now dealing with a different animal who will actually bring them to justice

Either Trump or his ex released them. Once reporters have them they can publish them.

That does not mean it was legal. It was just not prosecuted. If Trump and BArr beleive it is worth prosecuting I believe they will do so to send a message.

They don't have to release anything. All they have to do is the same thing that pencil-neck clown Schiff keeps doing. Just say, 'OMG! Putin gives Trump a billion dollar allowance every year because Trump is actually his special needs half brother. Unfortunately the law prevents us from showing the public. Just trust us.' Then the media will say they have an anonymous insider who has seent it.

It’s obvious that he has tons of write offs and doesn’t pay much taxes. Everyone realizes this. What is the big deal? Hate the game, not the playa.

He should just give it to Nancy Pelosi only. If it’s ever leaked, he would know who to send to jail immediately.

They will be “leaked” and after a brief “investigation,” the “leaker” will not be found.

They won't make them public. They'll only leak them. Leaks are different. They didn't mean to leak it. Therefore, it's ok.

No doubt the logic you reference is simply doing what other Presidents and candidates have done. Not doing thost hings is why Trump has been ultra successful.

The law does not require disclosure of tax returns.

Keep trying but you liberals will never grasp that straw.

That's no concern of theirs since they never suffer adverse consequences for violating the law.
