In my experience, hardcore Libertarians (with a capital L) are universally antisocial contrarians with a personal animus toward America. These are people who, for whatever reason, have been marginalized social outsiders their entire lives. They're bitter, resentful, unhappy, miserable individuals who exorcise their impotent rage by aggressively arguing in favor of outrageously absurd political stances that would have devastatingly negative effects on American society because deep down, if you were really able to pin them down and push them until they "took off the mask," so to speak, they'd admit that their only motivation is that they hate America and want Americans to suffer.
To argue that multinational corporations should have absolute carte blanche to import whoever the hell they want into the population of a sovereign nation is a fundamentally unserious position. To argue that the United States of America is an economic zone and the right choice always in every situation is whatever most increases the net income of Fortune 500 companies is a fundamentally unserious position.

I guess Henry Ford didn't understand "classical economics: either.
Henry Ford lived in an era where labor was dirt cheap.
Your own govt has fricked that up.

If you’re trying to rate upvotes and downvotes on this board at the metric by which good posts are determined, you’re gonna end up with shitty results
Oh wait, our entire political situation hinges on the same system. There’s some food for thought

The Blue Collar bloodbath occurred in the 70s when hundreds of thousands of steel and auto workers went down the drain.
The white collar baws made fun of them.
Now the white collar bloodbath is upon us and these baws are throwing a fit, and its fun to watch.
The fact you don't see a problem here is both comical and sad.

I see opportunity, even in my own line of work which will be obsolete soon enough.

Not surprisingly, you missed the point.

Youre finding lots of reasons why you shouldnt improve yourself.
We know for a fact that many of these imported workers are a "quantity over quality" type of labor. "Doing better" is not what entices these corporations. If you can produce X for Y salary, the company will almost always choose someone who can produce 0.8X for 0.6Y.
There's also a convenient ignoring of second and third order effects and of short term outlook wherein leadership benefits massively from short term cost savings while being insulated from the trade off of longer term quality decline.

This tells me a lot about your lack of character.

This is as nonsensical as the OP. H1B visas are not affecting only white collar positions.

You always make statements like this yet never expand upon on them.
Tell the class what opportunity you see when both blue collar and white collar wages are under severe downward pressure.

No, I got it.
I've been telling you this entire thread the issue is the cost of labor in this country.

Someone who desires good work/life balance has a lack of character?

Luckily we're in America so the corporate/investor class can get mad about it and complain if they want

Why?
Why should you be rewarded LESS for doing MORE? Why is it a lack of character to accept that?

If you lose your job over it and blame someone else, absolutely.
Work/life balance isnt an objective thing.

Just to be clear, in this thread we have a lot of pretend right wingers wanting the masses to crush the capitalists.
