wind the clock back 10 years

Take a look at things that were "unthinkable"

Keep that mindset when you go to the polling booth, and for God's sake, go to the polling booth

It's important

“And just like that, for absolutely no reason at all, people voted hitler into power.”

This is how you end a republic. You decide the only way to save the place is to demolish the middle class. That middle class throws you out and is willing to put anyone in charge who promises to stop you. “Anyone” is a big word.

10 years ago would someone have thought “free college” have been a major policy proposal in the Presidential primaries?

what the frick are you talking about?

"false information"???

YOU asked how a home equity tax would work and I answered your question

Please explain for the whole class how that constitutes "false information"

Take all the time you need

some Dem candidates ARE talking about a "wealth tax"

a home equity tax proposal sounds a lot less preposterous now than it did, oh, let's say even 10 years ago

I can't speak for OP, but all I did was answer the question you asked...

Just no, welcome to the deluded mind of nutjobs.

Anyone who seriously proposed this would have zero chance of being reelected in either party.

It’s pretty easy to see the path we are headed down and surmise where it leads, how people are unable to project small increments down the timeline is crazy. It’s not like the hints aren’t there. How people can just ignore the libs greed while we are in the very midsts

No one - no politician, no academic - has ever proposed a tax on home equity. It’s made up, and to discuss it is a waste of everyone’s time. Just want that to be crystal clear.

they are already talking about a wealth tax, which is not so far off from an equity tax

Elizabeth Warren has already proposed a wealth tax. Equity is equity whether it’s homes, stocks or 401k’s

You are being quite naive

Every dem candidate has proposed give-always, they don’t tell anybody where they are gonna get the coin, not because they don’t know, but because they don’t want their sheep to know

Yet these guys will let on like THEY are the intelligent ones :sigh:

bingo

and while we are being "crystal clear", it is (or should be) obvious to everyone that we are discussing a hypothetical

OP made an "if/then" post, cleay stating an opinion. He then backed up his reasoning for said opinion by pointing to actual proposals being made (i.e. wealth tax)

then we get a liberal stating that said opinion could not work

after that, it was explained how such a thing COULD work

said liberal then attacks everyone for "fake news" about discussion on a hypothetical!

after that, the same liberal is asked for an explanation of his accusation, the answer from the progressive in this story? Anger, frustration and attacks

this has actually been a pretty good example of how progressives operate...

Are you being serious or just trying to spoon feed idiots?

Those two are as closely related as apples and camels.

Yeah, they’re not going to tax home equity (maybe), they’re just going to confiscate a chunk of our 401ks. No worries.

spoon feed, but you are clearly beyond help...

really?

Please explain how taxing my wealth (401K, savings accounts, stock equity, accumulated cash that has already been taxed, etc) is so very different than taxing me on the value accumulated in my home
