Your transparency seems weirdly one sided.
The government controls the information. I'm for as much transparency as possible from the government regardless of the issue or who is in charge.
It's not too much to hope that DHS would want to counter charges of poor training and excessive force by sharing with us at least the facts of officer-involved shootings.

You started in the first thread instantly questioning the agents please.

Color me shocked.
I still want an explanation / justification from DHS on why the ICE agent did what he did in shooting him in that situation.

Not sure if you're deliberately being obtuse or simply ignorant but at the 2:12 mark you can clearly see him push an agent.
It also appears an agent removes his gun from him shortly before he's capped.
For all intents and purposes that investigation is over.
That's a clean kill. ...and odds are, so is this latest one in Austin. ...but keep sky screaming.
Sorry, WHICH video? I posted one of 2:11 in total duration. PUSHING an agent is reason to shoot an unarmed man? We don't even know what the agents thought justified killing Pretti. They clearly panicked.
As for Austin, DHS has yet to even put out an excuse for shooting an unarmed man in the back.

shouldn't delay his departure, but you never know. The case is being decided by a Clinton-appointed judge.
I looked into the U-visa requirements:
-certification by law enforcement that the applicant is needed as a witness for a trial (not happening on federal level...maybe state?)
-discretionary approval of an arm of DHS (NEVER going to happen)
You're doing a great job sticking to what's going on with this. Good work, IBM
Have to wait and see. At first I saw Clinton appointed judge and thought "uh oh".
But we have had multiple Obama and Biden judges working against the East Coast states. So who knows.

Thanks Wolf. It looks like his lawyers DID challenge the deportation order. Temporarily blocked.

No problem, thanks for the updates!
Hmph. Ok I'll check it out.

He's not even on camera then...you are making an assumption. That does not show any push.
Here's the push:
Here's Pretti's outstretched hand (in red) to receive her:
Here's Pretti still holding onto her just after the push:

Ok. Let's assume all that is accurate. Why is it relevant? His actions after all of that, not involving that pushed woman, are what set the chain of events in place.
Again, you are gaslighting. He was not engaged by the ice officers for helping the woman from not falling, which is what you claimed. It’s ok to say you misspoke. You’d get more respect if you did.

I respect you. I don't mean to gaslight. To me, it looks like terrible law enforcement.
You have an agent pushing women for some unknown reason. Were they obstructing? Arrest them...is pushing them away arresting them? Why not just calmy say, if you persist, we are going to arrest you. He can't handle a woman by himself?
Then in the mosh pit with Pretti, they never say "You're under arrest. Don't resist." Pretti doesn't make any threatening moves towards officers. Yes he briefly bends down to help a woman who has just been pushed to the ground. He IS between the agent and the woman and makes contact with the agent. Pretti immediately lefts his hands in the air to show no aggression towards the agent. He's then sprayed in the face and wrestled to the ground...and shot AFTER his gun is removed from his holster.
Pathetic law enforcement performance all the way round. Neither of the two woman who were pushed were even arrested, much less charged with anything.
The agent (who later bashes Pretti with the empty cannister and shoots him) lost his cool. He shouldn't have a badge and a gun. 4 or 5 agents couldn't subdue a leftist male who had been pepper-sprayed in the face without shooting him?
No wonder Pretti's phone footage nor any of the agents bodycam footage has been released.

I'm not gonna keep going on with you. The video is there. An officer was trying to deal with a woman and he stepped in between and put his left hand on the officer to push him back some. Not sure why you keep trying to move the goalpost.

After which Pretti immediately raised his hand in the air. His phone is in the other. He's not resisting arrest. He was never told he was under arrest. He was never a threat to anyone.
Thanks for the discussion. I think we understand each other's position. Do you at least agree that Pretti's cellphone footage and the bodycam footage should be released?

So? He's trying to block the pepper spray from hitting him is what I see.

That's debatable.

Interfering or obstructing the federal officer is why he was targeted and the attempt to arrest happened. You keep saying "but, muh threat." It doesn't matter. Just because YOU don't think he was doing anything wrong, doesn't mean that holds up with the law.

I'm always for getting all the information available out into the public.

I have appreciated the discussion. Glad you're for transparency.
Of course, whether or not Pretti was breaking a law isn't the question. The central question is whether, at the moment the shots were fired, the officers reasonably believed Pretti posed a serious threat of death or serious bodily injury.
I just don't see how one can answer that question "yes." We'll just agree to disagree.

You cannot interfere with an arrest. That’s illegal. You become a threat to the safety of officers when you do that. It usually leads to arrest whether you are offered a verbal or even written invitation to consent to an arrest.

Y'all keep saying that. We have never heard from the agent who initiated contact with the two women and Pretti on what he was thinking.
Pushing people away doesn't seem like attempting to arrest someone. Neither of the two women Agent Panicky shoved were arrested for anything.
Again though, it's irrelevant. You can't shoot someone just because they are breaking a law. The person has to be a reasonable threat of serious bodily harm when you shoot them.
It's hard to make that case with the unarmed (at the time of the shooting) Pretti versus several agents who were beating on him.

This is not a prerequisite for assessing or knowing what happened. There is no obligation for officers involved in shootings to host press conferences.

The only reason ICE agents were on the scene was to conduct a targeted arrest. The only reason things escalated beyond the targeted arrest was because a bunch of Karens with rape whistles decided their moral cause was to interfere. That’s the sole reason Alex Pretti and the woman shoved to create distance were there.

It never looked like an intentional shoot to me. It looked like a textbook example for why people should not interfere with an arrest - because it creates a dangerous situation for everyone.
The agents who signed up for the job knew the risks. That’s why they get hazardous duty pay.
Pretti knew the risks too. That’s why he brought a gun when he knew his purpose was to interfere with an arrest.
The agents who removed the weapon did not aim the weapon he removed. He mishandled it and the round that went off could have easily resulted in the death of one of the good guys. Fortunately the casualty was someone who armed himself because he was looking for conflict with agents tasked with doing the risky job of arresting law breakers and not someone committed to keeping fellow Americans safe from law breakers.

THAT'S what I think happened, but the audio doesn't seem to pick it up.
The only rational explanation is that the two guys who shot defenseless Pretti panicked when they heard "gun" and then the accidental discharge from the agent who mishandled it.
Maybe the bodycams pick up the sound of the accidental discharge...and that's why they won't release the bodycam footage or complete a report on the homicide of Pretti.
All the other good guys and bad guys stuff is certainly true. It just doesn't make any difference legally.
