I am honestly curious to your personal bent on this topic.

As I noted, I have no problem with legalization. My problem is that proponents have gone overboard in contending that pot is completely harmless.

What are your personal experiences with pot?

Do I know people that have (and do) use? Yes. As in have I personally used it? No. The only illegal drug I have ever consumed was alcohol while I was underage.

I want gay married couples to be able to protect their pot farms with AK47's.

Is anyone fighting for pot to be legal for minors?

Would 1 in 6 teenagers who regularly drink hard liquor have serious problems? If so, do you think liquor should be outlawed?

This is what I say. I laugh at every point.

The very same talking points can be used for alcohol, tobacco, over the counter prescription drugs, etc.

Stupid article is stupid.

I've seen very few pot proponents claim pot is harmless. Compared to many other legal substances, including many over the counter drugs, it isn't any more dangerous. Compared to many prescription drugs, it is less harmful.

Are there risks with it? Of course. There are risks with just about anything you put into your body.

It's certainly not harmful in the short term. Smoke as much pot as you can physically stand to smoke in day, and drink as much Nyquil in that same period.

You'll wake up from one.

I've smoked quit a bit of weed, but quit because it wasn't making me feel the same anymore. It made me too foggy and I just didn't like it anymore.

That said, your study is bullshite. I quit cold turkey and never felt the slightest withdrawal. Alcohol, on the other hand, will slowly kill you aft breaking your body down. That, I have seen, but I don't see many public crusades against that industry.

What a revelation - if something is abused it could be bad for you. Kids probably shouldn't be granted access to social intoxicants. And if you operate heavy machinery or drive a car while intoxicated you might get injured. This will get filed under the "water is wet" category. Is this seriously an argument to maintain the marijuana black market?

Nothing will ever make me think that pot is somehow worse than alcohol.

If pot is legal, teens would be underage. So the argument doesn't really hold water. It's not good for teens to do pot, or alcohol or other drugs.

In his defense, just because you didn't have a problem quitting doesn't mean others won't. Some people are much more prone to addiction.
