How the frick do you mischaracterize a direct fricking link to his words?

And yet not a denial. I voted for Trump. See, thats how its done

I voted for Trump. Wow, you almost had me.

Thats a pretty damn huge point to flick off as a deflection. OP is trying to say we were wrong with Trump. Nah, we knew what Harriis was bringing to the table. So no serious person would give support to the OP

But not a denial that it’s a deflection. Wait, was I not supposed to use your rhetorical tactics against you?

Go start your own thread about what Biden was or wasn’t and stop trying to derail this thread so you don’t have to discuss 3000 points gone off the Dow and $6.5 trillion lost since fricking Wednesday.

No, he didn’t promise those either. Go ahead and search for a quote from Trump, on this topic, that includes the word promise. I’ll spot you the entire internet.

I see.

So unless the words "I promise" are used, then it doesn't count as a promise.

Well, that's one way to try to cover you being obviously wrong on a point.

Bill—what-is-the-meaning-of-"is?"—Clinton would like that one.

BTW, Fortune Magazine heard a promise there: Fortune

Probably any reasonable person did, actually, which I think is the legal criteria for whether a promise was made...if any reasonable person would think so based on what was communicated.

Here's a law firm that heard a promise as well: No Tax On Tips

Since it's not the focus of the article, they don't specifically agree with me on the legal definition of the word, but the fact that they call it that strongly implies it.

Fox News also heard a promise: Fox News

And NPR: NPR

And CNN: CNN

And here's a link from USA Today where they quote the promise: USA TOday

quote:

"If you're a restaurant worker, a server, a valet, a bellhop, a bartender, or one of my caddies ... or any other worker who relies on tipped income, your tips will be 100% yours," Trump said.

And in case you are suspicious that it was reported correctly, here's a link from C-Span where he says it on video: C-Span

Be sure to watch that one, because Trump himself calls it a promise, on video, and that video is from this year.

That's what you were sure I wouldn't find, right? Trump calling it a promise?

Well, there you go.

By pretending he meant 3 days after the election

Why does the OP get to define which 3 days? My three days are the last 3 of his first year, once we clear most of the dictatorial judge nonsense

Nope, sorry, still no “promises” made, insofar as the topic we’re on here. People like me and Trump have I guess the apparently unfounded expectation that the other people are intuitively aware that of course you can’t make a promise under those circumstances because, for one, you must take into account the unforeseen. What Congress will do with an agenda item of his. The President can’t exactly “control” what not just one chamber of Congress, but two. Lots of moving parts, would you agree? Surely so.

But anyhow, that’s a pretty obvious thing and we don’t think it’s asking too much to exercise some common sense and intuition. So once again, no, Trump specifically refrains from using the word, and it ain’t super hard to understand why.

Sometimes you have to sacrifice to win.

This isn’t rec ball Tom. If you were a Braynan or Jaxson, you would know what real sacrifice is.

i think you are confusing the stock market and the economy.

jobs are doing better than forecasts. wages are up. inflation is down. once the fed lowers interest rates, the market will bounce back.

don't blow yourself up. just relax and enjoy the ride. the adults are back in charge.
