Liberals simply see things from a different perspective. I don't agree with their take on things, but if they are willing to have an honest debate about the issues, without losing their minds or resorting to name-calling, I can respect their position.
Those progressive liberals who dismiss differing viewpoints; who ridicule and belittle other people's beliefs, I have no use for.
If I give respect, I expect respect to be returned.
