Hyde smith won the popular vote with McDaniel siphoning off MUCH more votes than who ever the other democrat was from Espy.

If a quarter of McDaniel voters votes for Hyde smith and the exact same turnout happened, Hyde Smith still wins. Easily.

Bingo. Lots of folks won't vote for Espy just because of his past. CHS may not be people's ideal vote (in their minds), but they don't want to vote for a crook who just hasn't been found guilty yet.

But if fewer McDaniel voters vote for Hyde-Smith and turnout is lower it’s a different story. I think CHS is safe, but If she had only pulled 35% in the first race, this would be a dogfight because McDaniel voters hate the state GOP establishment
