We had a banana tree on Campus at St. Pious in New Orleans when I was a kid.

I have several banana trees on my property but they die in the freeze every year and come back in the spring. You can’t commercial harvest bananas like that. The scale of the banana plantations in Costa Rica is way beyond what we can do here. I’ve seen althe scale of the plantings down there and it’s impressive. Those are massive planting areas that grow year round.

We can't grow bananas in a commercially viable way. Would be cost prohibitive.

There aren't many places where crawfish can be commercially viable either.

Cut them down to 2 foot tall and let them grow. The bananas replenish each time you do this

Hmm, I'll definitely try it. They were planted by the previous owner and he said they had never produced so I never looked any further into it.

Thanks
