To the point you have to have a supplement to be fully covered. I don't hear anything about the gaps. This is more like Medicaid for all if I'm understanding exactly what their saying. Perhaps Medicaid for all doesn't sound as pleasant.

Google doctors in your area. Call 5 random ones and ask if they are accepting new Medicare patients. Report back.

Those gaps will be covered by private insurers...duh.

They will take new Medicare patients.

No doctors in my area will take new Medicaid patients, though. My local area group FB has a post every day from different people complaining about it.

Well, that's certainly not fair. Not everyone will be able to afford a separate private insurance policy to cover the gaps.

Just another example of the time honored dem tradition of changing words and their meanings to suit their BS ideology. "Universal healthcare" has such a negative connotation that they have to call it Medicare for All. Just more progaganda.

Also, it's just another empty suit policy perscription. M4A will be nearly impossible to pass even with a Dem controlled Congress. The unions alone will turn off the money fountain to candidates who vote this stuff in. Plus, like all bills, it will be a retarded form of what people are advocating for, just like the ACA was. There is no way they are getting rid of private health insurers because those programs would self-implode without the supplementary coverage that insurers provide to most of the recipients.

Any government run health care system is going to have MAJOR gaps in the coverage... One just has to look at the VA to see how the government can absolutely frick up health care and not give two shites about doing so...

Yeah, I was too subtle. My post was a sarcastic dig at those policy proposals because they either completely ban private insurers or would drive most of them out of business. Hence there would be few if any insurers and those left would cost a lot more.

Sort of a if they have no bread "let them eat cake" kinda thing.

Absolutely! Base Medicare is not appealing at all. With supplemental its fantastic. But that goes against the free narrative. I can already hear the chants. "Part G for Free" "Part G for Free"

-Part B premium - $135.50 per month

-Medicare Supplement - $100-$170 per month at age 65 (avg in SC), with rate increases annually

-Part D premium - minimum of $14 per month, much more if you take Tier 3, 4 or 5 drugs

I haven't heard a single media member bring up the facts laid out in this post (gaps, private supplemental insurance and monthly premiums). They just parrot "Medicare for All."

So one you add in supplements and premiums, you are right back where you started. With less doctors to choose from. Makes PERFECT sense.

You'll probably see ALOT more concierge doctors where you join their practice for say.... 2 to 3 grand a year and get unlimited visits. I'm not sure how they handle labwork and tests...
