Not so sure, if the guy is an independent contractor. There is a reason that he's not a regular employee. Things are done a certain way for a reason.

I think you're thread is bs. This didn't happen

Why wouldn’t you believe it? I’m just curious as to what didn’t ring true.

The IRS gets a copy of his 1099's. If the taxes aren't paid we get notified to garnish wages.... any contractor in trouble with the IRS, we drop...I am not collecting taxes for the IRS...I got enough to do as a small business
Did his name match his SSN? Because usually they don't.

Again, I will refer you to the buses headed to your city with illegal migrants who were just captured, given a court date in 2021
Point?

At least the guy I know offers America something it needs...these children and adults coming in buses, what do we know about them?
Are there not actual Americans who can provide the same? (Yes there are. Hired one today, among the many competing to provide the service.)

This is why I fully support Trump because he's actually trying to change the madness of it all, while Democrats block funding to build a wall...Congress won't change catch and release.
Trump wants to curb illegal immigration, but you’re “up in the air” because you know one who does good work and is a decent guy? Sounds like you don’t support curbing illegal immigration and your feels have gotten the better of you.

OP is a supposed patriot with a coat who has expressed empathy for a brown illegal.
The two are mutually exclusive.

The fact that you took my post as sincere and did not see the satire speaks volumes about this place
well dang man, every post is hammering me...sorry I missed the satire...that was good, really good satire, let me tell you ..I just thought you were piling on, speaking your mind, which is fine....go for it
I can't believe people on this board have never met an illegal that they actually really cared for...? is this true? No wonder the conservatives get a bad rap, maybe we are took hard line about somethings and won't allow some emotion in to connect to encourage us to reflect on another mans' struggles and journey?
I hate that we have illegal immigration but I am not going to hate another man just because he doesn't have the proper paper work, doesn't speak great English and is probably afraid to ask tough questions and get sent back...when you have a family, you worry about them not yourself...he's the support system...he goes, it creates a domino of challenges...this speaks to why immigration hasn't changed, the politicians have no clue what to do
People from the Hispanic culture are often soft spoken humble people who just want to work , they don't want or need a lot to be happy...
sure some illegals are bad people, I understand this reality, it makes me angry....America doesn't need more problems
I've been a GC for nearly 30 years... I've worked around Hispanics most of my adult life...
I appreciate what they do....

Don’t apologize to these sycophants here for seeing and understanding the humanity in another person.
It’s refreshing. There is no easy answer. But it’s really easy to go down a dark road if we refuse to see them as actual, legitimate people with actual, legitimate hopes, dreams, families, personal upbringings different than ours, etc.

That would be the reason he gets a 1099.
And if he doesn't pay taxes then Apex could be responsible for paying them.
His story isn't adding up.

Boosie, I understand where you are coming from, but if you let all of these types of stories carry weight, then nothing can ever be done to fix the problem. And it is damn sure a problem. Lines have to be drawn.

So you got him at 265 per 1k and no extras instead of paying an American to lay them at 450 + extras.
We do upscale remodels...
... every job is different, many of our projects do not need a mason...
jobs are priced up front, not by sq.ft or by cube of brick...though we use this as a benchmark of what we might expect to pay to feel if a price is high or not
remodeling is a different animal than new construction
wages are up...for everyone
we only hire people that are insured and ones that must be licensed, they are licensed.., plumbing, HVAC, electrical, but as you know the license holder is seldom the guy doing the work...
we don't mess with unskilled cheap labor....In our market, if a guy is skilled, he's making 30 35 an hour min...
Plumbing and electrical labor rates are 85-110 hr
Posted on 5/17/19 at 10:50 pm to boosiebadazz
Yeah, just ignore those actual, legitimate immigration laws that are being broken by those actual, legitimate illegal immigrants.

Each man, each entity or business is responsible for their taxes...
it's called a tax return
A builder is not responsible for some elses unpaid taxes...we are responsible for paying them for the work they did...
If they are an an S or C corp, they don't get 1099's...My company is a S corp, I know a little about taxes...I also have a CPA that keeps me straight
sole proprietor, or partnership, they get 1099...using SS or EIN...
Posted on 5/17/19 at 10:54 pm to ApexTiger
Is he a sub or sub of a sub?
Posted on 5/17/19 at 10:55 pm to boosiebadazz
Absolutely the case. It’s dangerous to see the world only in black and white with no compassion or empathy.
Posted on 5/17/19 at 10:56 pm to ApexTiger
We are an S Corp and any "temp" labor we 1099 that doesn't pay taxes on income it can come back on us to be responsible for that liability
