I finally got COVID

After 13 or so months of living life like I always have I finally got it from a friend of mine I had lunch with last week.
I started coughing Saturday and by Sunday had typical flu symptoms (body aches, fever), etc. The worst was a migraine I had for 3 days but by yesterday all the lingered was a little congestion. Woke up with a slight headache this morning but popped some Advil and I feel like I am pretty much past it. It was not any worse for me than the typical flu. In fact, I suspect it was just the flu but of course it will be counted as COVID.
I was shocked it took me so long to get it as the only guidance I followed was to wash my hands which was nothing unusual from before.
Now that I will have antibodies, that means I will really delay on the vaccine so no vaccine passport for me.

When I get the flu one side effect is that food doesn't taste so good. So, I make the best of it and try to lose 5 pounds. Always works.

They are doing fine as well. Had the same progression as me but started about a day before me.

A new study finds that a third of COVID-19 patients are diagnosed with a neurologic or psychiatric diagnosis in the six months after infection, more evidence that COVID can lead to long-term complications. Researchers at the University of Oxford compared data on almost 240,000 patients with COVID-19 to a similar number of patients who had other respiratory infections, like the flu. Of the patients receiving a neurological or psychiatric diagnosis, about 13% received such a diagnosis for the first time. Anxiety, mood, and substance use disorders were most common, but some patients were also diagnosed with strokes, dementia, and other serious neurological problems. These neuropsychiatric disorders were more common among COVID-19 patients compared to those with the flu or other respiratory infections, prompting researchers to call for a closer look at why COVID-19 patients appear to be at higher risk for brain-related complications.
