Mark my words this will be a mistake and if we successfully remove Assad the person who replaces him or people who replace him will be worse

Agreed. We need iron fisted secular dictators ruling the Middle East to keep the Islamic populations in check. Removing Saddam was a mistake. Removing Momar was a mistake in Libya. Assad needs to stay.

We have stupid people running our country for last 50 years, what do you expect? We also have a country full of people like on Political board here who love American troops dying in the Middle East.

It’s amazing how they have switched the war crowd 180 degrees in two election cycles

It hasn’t demobilized since we entered Vietnam.

We have stupid elected officials. The ones running the country are actually very intelligent, but with nefarious motivations.

Totally agreed. I hate agreeing with Russia.

I'm hoping anything that happens is similar to our response last year, and not a full-scale invasion.

I remember not that long ago on this board then opposing action in the Syria was referred to as supporting Putin. It will be interesting to watch as some people on the board left and right flip

But watching liberal Talking Heads on this one might be good for some real comedy

What is the point of increasing military spending if you can’t play with it?

Youtube

Link of Syrian war timeline up until October of last year. Syria is red, Kurds yellow, terrorist America supports green, and ISIS black. Watch the timeline and you'll see how Russia and Syria have been fighting terrorist over there. The green part in northwestern area is actually much more red now, and so is the area around Damascus as the Syrian army has made a big push around Idlib and Damascus at first of this year.

I believe that is what they want. Endless war.

I'm 46 and can't remember a time in my adult life that we weren't blowing people up in the ME. Maybe a short time after desert storm?
