Legit didn’t realize that was you, which is shocking because it was in your usual style
But hey, while I’ve got you - Any thoughts on those 5k checks yet?

Orange blew a fragile energy market to pieces with his aggression.
ragincajun03 posted a thread on the O-T that supertanker rates are soaring.

As I've said, for all those who think the Strait is open and all is well, there are a number of factors that say otherwise.
- Bond markets.
- Crack spreads.
- Reserves drawdowns.
- Threatened and real diesel export restrictions.
- Fertilizer supply and price.
- Price at the pump.
Ukraine/Russia isn't helping, but that has been going on for 4.5 years. Starting this war fractured a fragile energy situation.

Ukraine/Russia isn't helping, but that has been going on for 4.5 years. Starting this war fractured a fragile energy situation.
quote:
Roughly twenty million barrels of oil and petroleum liquids pass through the Strait of Hormuz each day, about a fifth of everything the planet burns, and traffic there has fallen by more than ninety percent since late February. Saudi Arabia rerouted what it could through the Red Sea, and the Emiratis pushed crude down a pipeline to Fujairah. Neither workaround replaces what a closed strait removes, and both have themselves been attacked.
Behind those two facts sits a third that receives far less attention and matters a great deal. Fuel is not only fuel. Diesel powers freight, and freight delivers food. Fertiliser is made from natural gas and shipped through the same contested water, and the Middle East supplies close to a quarter of the world’s urea and roughly half of its traded sulphur. Disrupt the Gulf and the price of a tank of petrol is only the beginning; the price of bread, of lettuce, of anything that must travel before it is eaten, rises with it.
What follows is an attempt to set out, plainly, how these two threats reinforce each other, and why the arithmetic points somewhere darker than most forecasts allow. The margin of error that cushioned four decades of cheap energy has been spent. Inventories are thin, the strategic reserve sits at its lowest level since 1982, spare refining capacity outside China is scarce, and the buffer that once absorbed a shock is gone. In a system without slack, small events stop being small.

The price of everything is up. It's not ideal. But, what are we supposed to do? Vote Democrat? The highest prices in the good old USA are almost always higher in blue run states. That's just a fact.
Top 10 Most Expensive States (2026 Rankings)
Based on data from World Population Review and regional price analyses:
1. Hawaii — Index: 184.8 (85% above the U.S. average)
2. Massachusetts — Index: 147.8 (48% above the U.S. average)
3. California — Index: 140.5 (41% above the U.S. average)
4. Alaska — Index: 129.0 (29% above the U.S. average)
5. New York — Index: 124.7 (25% above the U.S. average)
6. Maryland — Index: 121.1 (21% above the U.S. average)
7. New Jersey — Index: 118.8 (19% above the U.S. average)
8. Maine (tie) — Index: 114.6
9. Washington (tie) — Index: 114.6
10. Connecticut — Index: 114.2
So tell me WTF are we supposed to do about it?
All we can do is vote. And all Politician's suck. Every damn one.
I think Trump's handling of the Iran situation is less than stellar. I admit that. But, I'll also admit, I or not any of you know the nuances and complexities of that situation. But, none of you will answer the question....What happens if Iran obtains long range nuclear weapons? I suspect, the price of frickin' gas won't really matter too much then.

Ya and how many Americans live outside their means then complain when it affects them? Just like that gator always talks about travel but he drives a 2500. Bro go buy a commuter if it’s that bad I have no sympathy for people who claim work travel but drive a half ton truck. GTFO. Same with travel baseball bro, if you have 3 boys in travel baseball don’t bitch about gas that fluctuates and I’m sure they eat out, go on trips etc. again it sucks but bitching everyday about Trump is just fricking stupid.

Your grocery bill isn’t ever going down. You can only hope it goes up more slowly.

Sure, so why don’t you go ahead and vote in socialism. Because that’s the alternative- vote for people who hate our country, who are ok with mutilating children, who want to open the borders and have us pay for them, people who wanted to take away your rights so you don’t offend others.
Posted on 10/16/26 at 9:11 pm to NawlinsTiger9
According to Deboar, people shouldn’t be upset that doing fun things with their kids is getting squeezed by rising costs of essentials. We should just shut up and pay trumps increases

That was some of the most communist “do what you can for daddy government” horse shite I’ve ever read in my life

Go ahead and vote for socialism and everything that goes with it- that’s the alternative.

Newsflash, the prices are going to go up no matter who's the President. You want Gavin Newsome to be President?
Current average gas prices in California are available through AAA California Average Gas Prices:
• Regular: $6.22 per gallon
• Mid-Grade: $6.46 per gallon
• Premium: $6.65 per gallon
• Diesel: $8.49 per gallon (record high)
