I wonder this all the time, it seems like a new one pops up every day in here.

I like how random posters (or their lawyer friends) somehow think they have it all figured out, like Trump's people just accidentally overlooked this game-changer they stumbled upon while browsing DU.

People, you're foolish if you think all avenues weren't addressed and researched tediously. If Trump thought this would be a losing effort after consulting his advisers and lawyers then he wouldn't have done it.

Don't be stupid.

Why is this relevant? Does the law change because of his? Please explain.

This is such a dumb talking point. They at least had to have been emergencies AT THE TIME they were implemented. If there was never an emergency none of them would have been approved. So that's a REALLY stupid talking point.

You need to brush up on how this all works. Your are clearly confused and it is making you look silly.

Luckily your opinion on whether this is an emergency literally means nothing.

Enjoying all the melts tho, carry on.

When did you and Rob realize that you support extra-congressional end run bogus executive actions that "didn't need to be done"?

I gotta say, I'm a little surprised, what with your extra conservative bonafides and all

We have better academic rankings than the University of Memphis by a mile and a half on damn near every subject. Lmfao a Memphis fan trying to talk shite about Arkansas academics. What a fricking joke.

Any of them. Have you read any of them?
I have, but you should really figure out what your argument actually is, because it started out as:
quote:

ITS AN EMERGENCY congress could have addressed. They chose not to. So the president is. Why so disingenuous?

So we both agree that there's at least 3 different occasions where congress has addressed this situation, based on you saying "have you read any of them". This was the argument right up until you changed the goalposts to "you so ignorant, you ain't read shite"

quote:

I already know the answer based upon the ignorance of your arguments.
You don't even know what the argument is

Exactly.

The Dems on this board thought they knew better then, too. I guess they'll never learn.

I'm not melting. This doesn't affect my day whatsoever. I just like to add a little logic and realism while having fun at this Donald Trump circle jerk that is this message board.

Yea, pretty much exactly like that. You know the one that is still upheld and in place less a few minor corrections to scope?

Greeeaaaat example chief.

I did and if the SCOTUS decides it's not an emergency then it doesn't get approved. Pretty simple.

And precedent will support SCOTUS upholding of emergency declaration.

Very simple.

I'm not. I think Donald Trump and his advisors are arrogant. They are being bold to try and push this. It might work, but it will set a hugely dangerous precedent that people on both sides will bitch about for decades until eventually a consitutional amendment is passed to limit the power of presidents during an emergency. That's where this is headed.

Precedent would also require an actual emergency, which currently does not exist at our border.

Please go on and tell me how very different it is.

Its materially indifferent. If it was defeated then why are people still trying to fight it? If the legal challeges had gutted it so well, why are people still protesting the ban... which is still in place.
