Associate pastor stood up at the end of church and said everyone in the church over 12 should get the shot. He even said if it was J&J, you need to get one of the better ones (he named them). He suggested the non-vaxxed start wearing masks and social distance in family groups. I’m a little miffed right now, and surprised at the church’s lack of judgment in this. My honest feeling right now is that I’ve practically been asked to not come back without the shot. Also, there’s been an implication in front of my teens (uber-healthy) that I’m wrong in my guidance in the matter.

If you have an effective working vaccine why would people wear masks (even if you thought face diapers magically work)?

Sounds like you're in a cult.

Unacceptable. What denomination? The church is largely dead whether you’ve come to realize that or not. Southern Baptists in particular have been infiltrated by leftists.

Is that the position of the entire church leadership? If so, frick em find a new congregation that is in-line with your views. No need to keep attending (and especially tithing to) a church that you disagree with on something you obviously feel strongly about.

The churches seemed to be infested with wolves or Christians lacking in discernment these days, ironically discernment is needed the most right now, we are in some radically changing times, stay strong brother

I don’t really get your outrage. So your pastor is trying to be helpful and protect the flock in a way he sees fit. Doesn’t sound like he outright told you to get the shot or not come back, but rather told folks the current best vaccines. So he must respect your opinion, but you cannot reciprocate? At least he cares enough to offer an opinion, he’s not a doctor though so I get and respect your difference of opinion, but just understand why you can’t respect his - reasonable minds can differ on this.

The Pastor was out of his lane. Would you agree with your Doctor telling you what to do regarding your religion?

Associate pastor

He is saying this because he got the Fauci Ouchie and is now chipped. Lord Q and his prophet MTG warned us of this outcome. He is, unfortunately, no longer a servant of Christ, but to Bill Gates and the lizard people. Don’t doubt yourself for a minute, brother! The storm is coming next month.

Discernment, like most things in life, needs to be used and trained in order to be effective.

Hebrews 5:14
But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.

I’ve always wanted something like this to happen so I could give the pastor the business as I walked by him out the front door after church. But I don’t go to crazy snake churches so I’ve never had a pastor get overtly political during a sermon before.

Your pastor just crossed a line, he needs to keep political issues away from the pulpit

Ignore him & his suggestions, and keep going to church

No reason for you to change your habits based on other people’s fears and opinions
