Did they send out a company notice of all this to save? These 2 kind of sound for a discrimination lawsuit in the making if you are a white male
It was in the latest D&I town hall, maybe 1% of employees, generously, would have watched it.
The first point I'm not going to use the exact term they said in case it's proprietary but it implied they were forcing near-quotas for interviews but not for hires.
The second point was regarding a question of how "leadership is being held accountable" to commitments. They said they were partnering with HR, presumably looking for a legal way to reward hiring BIPOC or punish not hiring BIPOC. It was more of a non-answer, as with all corporate stuff, anytime they want to say "No, and shut up about it" they say "We're looking at it" but the idea was certainly positively received.

This^^^ should be #1 because it’s the absolute dumbest shite I’ve seen or heard of for determining if someone is capable of filling a position.
I can see foregoing a degree if an individual has a shite ton of job experience.
The way I interpret it is thus:
HR - "Why are there not enough BIPOC in data science?"
VP - "We don't have any BIPOC apply."
HR - "Why are there not enough BIPOC applying?"
VP - "There are very few BIPOC with a Masters in Data Science and those applicants can name their salary at any company right now."
HR - "Well, just delete the line requiring a Masters in Data Science."
VP - "That's the approximate skill level necessary to insure you can work to company satisfaction."
HR - "Delete it anyway. You can weight for advanced degrees in hiring but we want inclusive applicants and interviews."

why not just hire the best person for a job and screw all that other useless stuff?
Because that is soooo 2020. Time to wake up Rip Van Winkle.

#1 99.7% of jobs under VP no longer have a degree requirement or years of experience requirement
So your company is hiring ppl with no degrees and no experience? Profit margin is going to tank. Applaud that.

What kind of company?

You load sixteen tons and what do you get another day older and deeper in debt. Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go. I owe my soul to the company store.
