I am ashamed to be an American

I have always had much pride in being an American.
Ronald Reagan inspired me so I joined the AF upon graduation to serve our country. Served 4 years. My values have always been God, Family, Country! That took a hit today
I am semi-retired so I have some time on my hands. The wife told me last night I needed to go get tp, I said why? We have 9 rolls. She informed me there was a huge shortage due to corona. I was whaaat? I had no idea. Tp? Sure enough, pulled into Sam's club and the parking lot was full. Went to get a shopping cart, none there had to wait 10 mins and a girl was there spraying the handles with disinfectant. Really?
While looking for tp and detergent the place was mostly bear. Did not find tp or detergent. Stunned, I left
Went to walmarks to get some and the parking lot was full, didn't even bother. The wife went to a local grocery, a Lowes and another Sam's on the way home. All out of tp! Wtf is wrong with people?
Realize we are a pussified nation to the hilt. I always thought we were strong, we have been destroyed from within and that was very evident today
If such a small thing as this, yes it is small by scale. Can do this? Imagine what something bigger would do?

You will be downvoted for your statement, but American platitudes about liberty and freedom are lies. Our government hates both and the population is too scared and too lazy to love either. Over half this country is either obese or addicted to government handouts. And, like petulant children, we have to reminded how great we are, which is a telltale sign we aren't.

I understand your upset but hang in there - God always makes lemonade out of these lemons!! People were simply being human, acting out of primal instincts -- it had nothing to do with being American or not...simply being selfish humans watching out for themselves and their families in the face of fearful, unknown futere fanned by a media trying to create a panic to get rid of Trump!
Trump just put together the best private public partnership since WWII to address this issue - this will have impact into the future well beyond this first virus.
Plus Trump got reelected today and made the MSM look like the arses they are in the news conference

Dear diary, why are people so stupid? People pay hundred of dollars to take their kid to Disney and stand in lines hours long for rides. Is there anything more ignorant than that?? My wife and I stood in long lines today a Disney and it really amazes me how stupid so many other people are.

Because my daughter had one roll, guess I should have said that in op. Her boss has been trying to find some roo. Was gonna buy some and give to them. My bad. We wouldn't have tried if not for her. Should have said that. They are using paper towels which will clog their drain. Offered them some of ours
