Seriously though, those being treated with it for legit reasons are undoubtedly thankful trump isn't pushing it anymore.

So the people who claimed that, after being very sick, they began to feel much better within hours are...lying?

Well from what I’ve read the concerning side affect (cardiac) of both those meds is additive so it would seem like If given to the wrong type of patient then it’s not a harmless drug

Any patient I know of had an EKG evaluation before HCQ given . If QTc interval was in any way prolonged the drug was not given. Any patient administered the drug was also given the option to try it if conscious to give consent. Serial EKGs performed while on drug would also show any prolongation of QT and drug stopped.

I must admit I was wrong about this, very concerning study here.

How hard is it to read for understanding?
quote:

97 patients had been treated with just hydroxycholoroquine, 113 were treated with hydroxycholoroquine and the antibiotic azithromycin and 158 received “standard supportive management” for COVID-19.

You had 210 patients that clearly were headed south quickly, so they were moved from the "standard support management" category onto HCQ. That alone should tell you that the number of deaths were going to be greater in those groups.

The recommended treatment was always chloroquine and a Z-pak. Yet the most at risk didnt get the Z-pak. Those that did get the Z-pak saw 6% less deaths. And yet you still saw 11% die that received only "standard support management". And that would the least symptomatic group. Otherwise their treatment would be criminal to not to have been offered anything other than standard support management, when no such management historically existed

It sounds more like incompetence in the VA system than a drug failure. My father died in a VA hospital, so incompetence is a given.

Politically based study is political - this is why you never “trust Science “ Most Science of the day has been proven wrong a century later.

They should also ensure electrolytes are within normal range (potassium, magnesium, calcium).

They should also do baseline EKG with baseline QTc, measure again 3 hrs after dose then daily, excluding those with QTc>500 (baseline).

So more than twice as many people died taking harmless drugs compared to taking no drugs at all?

And that makes sense why exactly?

They didn't randomly choose patients so this makes total sense.

They likely have the drug to people who were not doing well and going downhill.

They didn't give the drug to people who were doing well.

Hence your outcome.

Or they have the drug to people with more health issues. There are lots of reasons why this could be the case.

The Brazilian one that showed a decrease in mortality of 60 percent when given early is interesting. There are issues with that study as well but that is interesting.

This study is garbage.

I know a woman who works at The VA Hospital in Alexander City, Al.
According to her, they've got a few cases, and had a couple of deaths.

I don't know if I really believer though.

A quick search shows that is not a VA Medical Center, but a nursing home, the Bill Nichols State Veterans Home. Thus, a high risk population just like the nursing home in Washington.

Is this the study where they gave it to people on their death bed?

BREAKING NEWS: cancer patients in hospice didn't respond to chemotherapy. Chemotherapy isn't an effective treatment for cancer anymore.

If someone has a link to the actual study, please post it. All I have found on Google are news articles. The facts that it has not been peer reviewed and is a retrospective are concerning.

I have no clue if the drug cocktail is therapeutic or not, but there are some red flags regarding the study in what information is readily available for review.

its so cute when you try to claim an FDA approved drug that has been in daily use for over 60 years now with very mild side effects and zero deaths in all that time, yet now just because of OMB its the devil
