In the past, everyone was aware that there were trans people.
However, their movement became perverted to include the indoctrination of children into their immoral cultural settings, and along with help from the radical left, they positioned themselves in positions of power to further their scale and scope.
Pronouns, wedding cakes, multiple genders, and a multitude of other hyper- delusional destractions pervaded cultural norms.
This group along with the blacks have been exhaustingly offensive.
You deal with them the same way you do any radicalized group of people that are counter productive to legal and cultural norms in society. You stop allowing the actions without consequences, and you make examples of those who dare to try to pervert children.

It's not the "trans-people" are necessarily the issue. It's the people DEMANDING society accept the delusion as "normal". The idea that a biological male can be a "woman" simply out of force of will (or vice-versa) is so wholly illogical and absurd that it is a bridge too far for any moderately rational/logical person. So when society (as a whole) refuses to accept that level of delusion you have the media and advocates creating another class of angry victims that, sadly, lash out with violence.
If an adult male wants to wear dresses and makeup, and call himself Susan, feel free. But don't demand logical people to engage in that delusion by considering HIM to be a "woman" based upon nothing more but a subjective desire.
