I’m with you on this, but the first 7k is not the same as it was thirty years ago.

I really wanted to do something’s when I retire my certification in several fields but, that’s all up in the air now.

Can I live with medical and health/ not living under the bridge eating cat food, sure.

I wanted to start up some franchises and help some folks enjoy the dream.

I might be better off just telling them how to plant a garden…

15%. Sucks because I now live off mine so draw the same amount every month. I had thought when I retired that that plus some small other income I could live somewhat comfortable until wife and I move on to Tiger stadium in heaven. Now it looks like I May come up short.

Down about $200k between my wife and I. My attitude towards my employer is better since it looks like I will need to work a couple extra years that I should be retired.

I’m down 6 figures and approaching 7.

If we’re headed for a recession, I don’t really know what to call this shite!

Not looking. I was down over $100k the last time I looked at my investments end of March. Haven't logged in to any of my accounts since. The only time I know anything is happening is when I receive a confirmation of some type of activity in my accounts (buy, sell, exchange, etc.). I have to log in to see what activity was done, and I won't do that. Just trusting my financial advisor right now to weather the storm.

I'm sitting heavy on cash right now, literally cash in the bank, waiting on the time to make a move and prepare for a nasty recession. Today is another day where that cash stayed right where it's at.

ETA: I remember being pissed in 2008 when I lost $10k over the course of October when the world was collapsing. That's been a good day in the market for me the last 6 months. Bad days are much bigger losses. FJB.

Smart move for sure, but cash doesn’t just sit there it devalues over time. I’m sure you know that but it’s for those who have less and might consider this option for an ‘eggs in one basket’ approach.

I can’t read our economic tea leaves somewhat with any accuracy right now for the first time in my life.
Tangibles are my only options.

401K is down over 20%. Sadly, I think I have 3.5 years before I have to take my first withdrawal from IRAs, need to double check that.
