Several, and I work with them every day at work. On average most I am sure mean well but the reality is they work for the government because they couldn’t survive in the private sector and that’s a fact. I can’t tell you how many “queens” I meet nearly on a daily basis. I am sorry if you believe government is full of efficient, hard working people and no I make far more than they do lol

As an engineer, I've worked with government employees at multiple points in my career, and at each point/experience level the government salary never came within 20% of what they'd make with equivalent experience at my company.
Various agencies report that the pay range for an electrical engineer working for the federal government is $102-143K. Let's say the midpoint is $120K.
Your company pays mid-level engineers $600K per year?

I’ve interacted with no less than 6 federal agencies.
Questions?

Some quality melting. Not bad for a rookie.

Hi, fed.
For every negative consequence in these past years, it was always 'muh brave fed worker' behind it.
Always.
And I never saw a single fed stand up and say "No, this is unAmerican", other than the ones that were already fired for not taking the jab.
And they're not feds anymore.
So yeah, no sympathy. Get a real job dude. And next time try not to push the pendulum so far, if you don't want it swinging back even harder.
The fault is yours.

Are the same people who hate federal employees also the ones who hate teachers?

What I meant is the government salary is at least 20% lower.

I'm a lowly DOD contractor. The gubment employees here are scared shatless. We have 2 recent DEI hires in the area where my desk is. Saw them talking yesterday and they were both ghost white pale. They know they are gone.

There are plenty of remote VA workers (who were hired specifically as remote to serve underserved veterans in rural areas) that are not "bags of crap."
There are a lot of federal government positions that were turned into remote positions to attract better talent. Those people are now moving on because they don't want to live in some shithole like DC. "Muh post office workers" is a mask to hide the stupidty behind it.

If you're a DOD contractor, you're indirectly a government employee. Program/funding cuts will hit you just as easily before you get too excited over others potentially losing their jobs.

My wife is a DOD civilian. She trains Army soldiers air traffic control. Been serving various positions for 23 years, first as a soldier, then as a civilian ATC GS positions, now as an ATC instructor….. what exactly are you asking about?

Nope, that isn't how it works.

My brother is contracted by the military. He is in no way a government employee.

What I was meaning is that budget cuts in the government affect a Contractor (and their job) just as much even though they don't work directly for the government.
The majority of Contracts have language where the government can have a Contractor removed from whatever project they are working on for them if they so choose. Pretty much every construction project you see with a government agency has that language for example.
So yes, if you're a Contractor for a government agency, you're kind of indirectly a government employee in the sense that your salary is government funded and your continued work on said project is also at the discretion of the government.
Contractor's also tend to be among the first to go in budget cut situations, when possible of course, because they are much more expensive than direct employees (as for a Contractor's services, the government has to pay their salary, benefits, contracting companies overhead/admin and of course the contracting companies profit).

I have been a government employee and worked for a NGO. You want to know what changed? Unions. Unions are a blight on everything they touch. They are utterly unnecessary and throughly corrupt.

Removing an FTE from a project isn't the same as firing a government employee. That language is there to remove people who aren't a good fit for a particular role. The position is still funded and will still be filled.

I deal with USDA and FSA workers and most are good.
OSHA and EPA workers on the other hand can all choke on a giant bag of dicks for eternity in hell

Many great at their jobs but the ones who aren’t are really really bad. But it is extremely difficult to fire then .
