They know where the Iranians are operating from--on and around Larak Island in the Strait. The U.S. is trying to play nice right now because, up to this point, the Iranians have limited themselves to threats of force only.

The question is how do you actually fix this? There could be unorganized remnant factions of IRGC with hidden missiles or drones for years

Not the world, Europe and Asia to some extent.

The Straight of Hormuz means very little to us here in the US or the Americas.


What it means to us is the fact that oil is a commodity that is traded internationally and oil prices go up and down accordingly.
