I honestly have a hard time with this. I do believe that they are dumb....but, I believe they were brain-washed in college and have zero objectivity anymore. They believe 100% what networks like CNN and MSNBC say on air, without questioning. So, I think they were dumb to allow themselves to be brain-washed, and probably lack a little common sense, but the brainwashing is what made them dumber.

Very dumb obviously. Many seem to really believe America is so rich that we can provide a public trough for the world's abject poor. They believe that restricting the production of fossil fuels right now will lead us to a better future. They believe that France and Germany are our friends and their version of socialism should be a template for our economy. They believe that government is best suited to guide their life and make it better.
But let's not underestimate the stupidity of many Republican voters. A good many of them apparently believe that satisfying their prurient desire for information about the Epstein saga is important for saving America. And some of them still believe America is so rich that we can use our military to police the world, or that low interest rates are the cure for any economic problem. Both groups fall into a class of people who have no ability to analyze and prioritize issues based on importance to themselves or the country.
