This has literally nothing to do with free speech.

Congrats on barely maintaining seats the GOP won handily only months ago.

With an incumbent congressman. How you don't see the difference between this special election and Tom Price's victory is mind boggling to say the least.

His tweets have nothing to do with transparency and you have no idea what free speech even means.

Because he tweets like a teenager.

Fortunately or unfortunately, he knows his audience

He knows the same people that gave us the Kardashians, Paris Hilton, and Bruce Jenner, also vote

It's not the messages that people don't like, it's his style

Who gives a crap about style as long as the message is effective. Like I've said before, the forward pass in football was once considered a gimmick play. Something tells me future presidents will use twitter, if still available, in the same way the forward pass came into existence.

Someone had to go first.

I would prefer that he make regular speeches or SOU addresses to the tweeting, but that would be a lot more difficult to carry out.

Spending tens of millions of dollars, almost all of it from out of the state of Georgia, on a single electoral district is the epitome of grasping for straws.

It's extremely effective.

The "juvenile" part is just Trump's persona.

But, the benefit of getting information from our president can't be disputed.

People want a king, and texting (edit: I meant tweeting) is very unkingly.

I personally don't like some of his tweets as they seem petty, but we elected someone to head one of three branches of the federal government, which is but one of many many governmental bodies comprising this nation. So, who cares?

Also, (putative) proponents of a more direct democracy should appreciate the direct and constant communication.

Finally, the hypocrisy of people outraged by texts is palpable, as I doubt most of them had issues with Obama's constant pettiness and Billy Jeff's BJs. Those were just endearing personal quirks.

Predator Drones.

What is this valuable untarnished information you're getting from his tweets?

lol.....trump has done nothing to prevent the press corp from writing whatever they want. You are probably another one that doesn't realize what free speech really means what it doesn't.

How can ANYONE in their right mind have a problem with Trump tweeting?

1. People who work in the media. It is usually their job to dispel information about what the president is doing or thinking to the people. This gives them tremendous power to mold the President's statements to fit the narrative they wish to tell and the agenda they want to push. Trump has cut out the middle man.

2. People who do not like what Trump says. A lot of people disagree with him. They will not like what he says no matter the medium and they will hate every medium he uses.

3. People who do not like "unprofessional" speech. Trump's tweets often make him look like a teenage girl. Some times, that kind of frank talk is enlightening, endearing, and refreshing, but sometimes it just looks immature, unprofessional, and embarrassing. Some people want to see a little more decorum. There's a lot of breathing room between occasionally ranting like a 12-year old girl and speaking in political lawyer-speak. Trump could go a long way towards sounding a little more presidential without completely censoring himself.
