Abortion is the golden goose of hot button issues. As far as "civilized" goes then I guess you don't think certain Western European countries are civilized.
Look, I wish we would just ban abortion. That way we would have no more wedge issues and meaningless hot takes that serve only to strengthen already established lines.

I'm pro life, so I oppose abortion. Maybe half the country agrees with me on that. Abortion up to the moment of birth? My guess is that most Americans oppose that, even those who are okay with abortion, say, in the first trimester.
