Wrong. He expanded Trumps tariffs, which Trump will now expand again.

Why didnt Bidens tariffs work?

They could get better. They could get worse. They could even stay the same!

This is the fundamental misunderstanding here fueled by lack of economics acumen and too much junior high school level competitive nonsense.

If you and I both build widgets and my widgets are tariffed 25% by you, but your widgets are not tariffed by me, then YOUR CITIZENS are getting screwed. They are paying 25% more than they otherwise would be for a product due to you artificially raising the price with a tariff.

You guys literally don't even understand who is negatively affected by the damn tariffs.

The exporting nation suffers slightly, depending upon the size of the tariff, because the members of the industry producing the product aren't able to sell as many units as they otherwise would, but EVERY SINGLE CITIZEN of the importing country who would be a potential customer of the product suffers.

Why do y'll not understand that?

This isn't about (whining voice), "That's not fair!!!"

It's about numbers.

Numbers and facts are undefeated.

If you think that, you need to stop posting on this thread.

You don't have enough knowledge to do anything but embarrass yourself.

You're being dishonest and you know it. Biden expanded tarriffs on "up to 100% on electric vehicles, to 50% on solar cells and to 25% on electrical vehicle batteries, critical minerals, steel, aluminum, face masks and ship-to-shore cranes beginning September 27, according to the US Trade Representative’s Office."

Right now American made cars have a 10% tarriff in europe. Placing a 10% tarriff on European cars evens the playing field.

Remember the dreaded tarriffs on Colombia? Libs were losing their mind because price of coffee would go up. Thing is, only the colombian coffee would go up. Not any other countries coffee. Columbia would then reduce the price of their cofffee to compete in America. Colombia makes less and consumers pay the same or consumers buy another coffee.

Got 2 words for you lib. First one stars with "F" and is likely the only word that is referred to as the F-word. The other one ends in "u".

Looks like they are having to lower prices now at the lots. Too much inventory. But in terms of tariffs or general inflation, IDK. But the jump in prices since COVID is insane.

I wouldn’t buy a Biden era car anyway due to the EPA fuel efficiency changes.

Those engines are garbage.

You clearly don’t understand the basics of economics. Other countries have been putting tariffs on US steel for decades and it has crippled the US industry which has destroyed midwestern manufacturing and the coal industry. God forbid someone tries to level the playing field for US workers, some of y’all should stop voting because you possess zero common sense or critical thinking skills

I was speaking at it from the companies perspective, not the countries. But let's look at it from the countries perspective. You are tarriffing my widgets. Meaning your citizens in your country are getting screwed, not mine. Mine are paying 100% of the price my widgets, which they will pay with or without the tarriff. Yours are paying 125% of the price of my widgets because of YOUR tarriff. Now your citizens can certainly still get widgets because they are made in your country and their price will be 100%. If your citizens choose to buy widgets made in your country, they're not getting screwed by the tarriff. I'll refer you to this from your previous comment "fundamental misunderstanding here fueled by lack of economics acumen".

Since you have realized that you cannot compete in the exchange of ideas and have reverted to junior-high level insults, I have two words for you: Updyke and Gump.

(And don't feel bad, probably most uat fans can't spell the words "frick you" and have to hint about them instead of typing them out.)

As for me being a "lib," the fact that I oppose tariffs and you favor them indicates that I am far more conservative than you. Don't believe that? Well, then let's see if you can answer this trivia question:

There were two candidates in 2016 who campaigned on tariffs. One was Trump. Who was the other?

Here's a hint. It stared with "Bernie" and it ended with "Sanders." (I made it an easy hint, since you're a Gump after all).

You agree with Bernie 'effing Sanders. How liberal does that make you?

Why do you think my citizens want to buy products made elsewhere in the first place? Why wouldn't they always only buy stuff made here?

(Again, I'm not going to give you guys this answer anymore because I am so tired of telling y'all this and you just ignore it).

You aren’t speaking facts in the slightest 90% of the time just your usual contrarian drivel spewed from the lens of Bush conservatism whom you had no problems voting for or McCain. Your concerns about Trump are comical

To not be a lib, you sure act like one. I'm sure there are alot of guys like you that sit in the corner, watch some other guy rail their wives, jump in when he's done to clean up the mess with their tongue and still argue that they are straight.

Should we tarriff everything? Absolutely not. In a perfect world, there would be completely free trade and I certainly support that. However, it is not a perfect world. In some situations tarriffs are necessary.

If your citizens want to buy your widgets, why the need for your tarriff in the first place? You make better widgets and your citizens prefer them. Seems there is no reason to have the tarriff.

Pompous, pretentious, condescending, arrogant, smug, know-it-all. Lib, yep checks out.
