There is just going to be a little hurt before anything gets better. That is just the way it has to go down.
Toughen up and tighten up on your spending.

You act like minivans didn't cost $50k under Biden. What we've been doing hasn't worked. Might as well try something else.

Wow, you must be some sort of financial wizard to come up with that intellectual breakdown of car prices....

I doubt it. Trump is far more concerned about the bottom line of economic indicators than he is an idealist.
The can will get kicked down the road.

Stay off the internet. Do every single person a favor.

How exactly are they being "protected"?
Posted on 2/14/25 at 12:38 pm to nicholastiger
When the previous administration tried to push companies to EV, that was a cluster. Some companies slow played it, a change in leadership, altered that course. The folks that crossed the border with a backpack, needed transportation. Used cars went up at a faster rate. Then folks decided to keep cars longer, keeping mechanics busy. Kind of a domino effect.

With enough subsidies, sure
You're in Alaska, right? You take that oil check each year or do you practice what you preach and refuse it?

1) We just put billions into retooling factories for them.
2) Tariffs are pure market protections for select Big Corporations, literally.

That whole 1k a year, we donate which many do via "Pick, click, give."
Unlike industry where billions are spent propping up inefficient corporations.

If the foreign company builds here, we the tax payers build the factories? Evidence please.

If you and I both build widgets and my widgets are tarriffed 25% by you, but your widgets are not tarriffed by me, I'm getting screwed. If I tarriff you 25% we are equal. What will most likely happen is that you and I would both do away with tarriffs on each other.

Without proper subsidies, they arent coming back.

That still means prices go up though.
What many of yall aren't considering is the elimination of shitloads of regulations that drove up prices (coupled with inflation).
Same is true for housing market (average cost of new house went up 32,000 solely because of regulations last 4 years)

I highly doubt that it is 1K for a "we". I worked in Delta Junction for 4 years. Never received the oil check, because I was not a resident. Best I remember, each person in the household got between 1500 and 2000.

You lefties have been saying that for years. I believe the tarriff threat will encourage companies to build cars here.

Actually you want to keep it so that you tarriff me 25% and I let you...

Its per person.
1k isnt life chanigng, like retooling entire factories for woke corporations.

Would never happen.
Alphas realize the key to success is innovation, not protectionism, which is highly feminine.
