How are we to have an election that only one party gets covered.

I don't understand why this is allowed to exist in this manner. They claim there is no deep state but all I see is the opposite.

The MSM is the propaganda machine for the progressive commies. They push whatever narrative the progressive commies tell them to.
It's the same way Russia, The CCP, and North Korea handle their news agencies.
Your point is valid. The Americana trusting the MSM information are making decisions based on lies and misinformation. The MSM is the biggest threat to American democracy.

Both parties are covered.
It’s just one’s attacked and the other is fellated.

We're Venezuela. The only difference is our state media masquerades itself as private.

Should Trump and Vance stop speaking to the MSM? I think they should consider it. Act just like Harris and Walz. Just prepared material, in friendly settings.

If you add up the rating of most of those MSM outlets now, it might be a viewership of 10 million people in a country of 340 million. Guys the MSM does not much power anymore, their sway is mainly over boomers. I think the average age of people watching MSNBC was like 70 and other was like 65. As time goes on, MSM as you see it are fighting over an increasingly smaller and smaller viewership.
10X the people see Elon's post on X or listen to Joe Rogan's podcast.

That is the 'reporting' I suppose. But they don't cover him. You know what I am saying. You just will not acknowledge it.

Its a first amendment issue. You are saying you are pro government censoring speech.
Also the courts ruled differently on print media and talk radio. So government could regulate talk radio but not print media.
The fairness doctrine was not the same as the equal time rule.
The fairness doctrine deals with discussion of controversial issues, while the equal-time rule deals only with political candidates.
quote:
Various presidential governments used the Fairness Doctrine to harass their political opponents by means of radio. During the Kennedy administration, Bill Ruder, Assistant Secretary of Commerce, said that "Our massive strategy [in the early 1960s] was to use the Fairness Doctrine to challenge and harass right-wing broadcasters and hope that the [legal] challenges would be so costly to them that they would be inhibited and decide it was too expensive to continue."
So used as lawfare against radio people you disagreed with.
quote:
The FCC suggested in Syracuse Peace Council that because of the many media voices in the marketplace, the doctrine be deemed unconstitutional, stating that:
The intrusion by government into the content of programming occasioned by the enforcement of [the fairness doctrine] restricts the journalistic freedom of broadcasters ... [and] actually inhibits the presentation of controversial issues of public importance to the detriment of the public and the degradation of the editorial prerogative of broadcast journalists.
At the 4–0 vote, Chairman Patrick said:
We seek to extend to the electronic press the same First Amendment guarantees that the print media have enjoyed since our country's inception.
As radio became more normal they decided this was unconstitutional. The argument before was that radio was so limited the government should have a say in what's broadcasted. It was a monopoly they were trying to control.

Did Reagan have to sign off on this? These people FCC seem to be untouchable.

You want state run media? Seen PBS lately?

Cable isn't regulated like OTA, either, for good reason.
