Amazon backed out of plans to build 2nd HQ in Long Island City, which would have brought 25k jobs, economic development, and infrastructure overhaul to this area of Queens. Incompetent representation to blame(even Cuomo and de Blasio are roasting local lawmakers for squandering this opportunity for NYC).

AOC and others just couldn’t help themselves and even celebrating killing this deal. The exact opposite of doing good for the districts they represent.

Amazon could quite literally choose one of 200 other cities (this was the scope of their search), yet the headline reads that it was Amazon’s loss. Fools! It’s unfreakinfbelievable.

Amazon and whatever city they choose to go to are the big winners here. Other than going to NYC for business - they will NEVER get any of my non-taxable dollars.

Don’t be surprised to see liberal outlets begin to marginalize AOC and Sanders. 2020 is right around the corner.

A politician from MD on CNN said that these companies have an obligation to spend their own money to improve infrastructure and provide affordable housing for the areas they move into. These are now mainstream political beliefs of the left.

I think they should expand where they are. We don't need any more spread of their idiotic liberalism.

I hope she stays in the limelight. She'll almost single handedly sink progressives

She and her kind likely believed the South Park treatment of Amazon coming to town was a documentary.

It may happen but it will be tangentially. Most media outlets are filled with progressives who think it's their job to steer political doctrine for the ignorant masses. There are a few talking heads that will push back but for every one of those there are 100 "journalists" who will tell the world that said talking heads are lying or completely wrong.

She was already becoming a pain in the arse of the DNC machine but when the New Green Deal was released, the DNC had no choice but to begin a campaign to push her out of the party’s circle of hopefuls for 2020. They’ll do the same with Sanders. There is a difference between a politician that uses socialist themes to garner votes and one that actually fricking believes that nonsense.

This one act might make her a one-termer. The socialist ghouls behind the curtain will surely fund her future campaign(s), but losing all of those jobs will, if the challenger isn't a moron, do her in.

Normally, their strategy would be to vilify the corporation, but good luck doing that with SJW Amazon.

Looks like the plan may be to allocate workers to other projects already in place. Hopefully Nashville adding closer to 10k Amazon jobs now vs. 5k. Thank you NYC!!!

Amazon put two years and untold amounts of staff time and money into negotiating with New York to save about $3 billion on a new campus in one of America's most dynamic cities.

what in the frick ?

quote:

"If they were interested in being a partner, then they would engage in dialogue and conversation about these issues," said Brooklyn Council Member Brad Lander. "Amazon doesn't want the rules we've democratically set. They want a monopolistic version."

i love this revisionism

NYC: hey Amazon let's negotiate for 2 years to make this work
Amazon: OK, but we are going to negotiate with other cities, too. you still have to beat them

2 years later

Amazon: we are locating to NYC after years of negotiation

NYC: HEY YOU NEED TO DO DUE DILIGENCE THAT WE DIDN'T DO AND IT'S YOUR FAULT WE FAILED AND OUR CONSTITUENTS AR MADE AT US... AND THIS IS CORPORATISM!

I have never seen a place that misuses the terms "its" and "it's" as this place does. Now CNN did it?

Before I say anything else, Screw Amazon.

Now when it comes to dealing with this company, before anyone starts throwing around comments, let me say:

You can't trust them. Period.

They say 25,000 jobs? I don't believe them. And you guys are thinking this is going to be a whole slew of those high paying white collar jobs that SJW's cream their pants over.

I bet it might have been a couple thousand of those. And the rest fullfilment center workers, and some other low paid peons, that Amazon treats in a way that would embarass Walmart.

If you think I'm wrong prove it. But this asswipe company is on my sh#tlist, for all the good that will do.
