Honey Island Swamp SHOOTING RANGE : Questions

1) is it open? I suppose it is and there are no flooding issues.
2) if I'm bringing my wife, do I really need to go get her a fishing license?
3) Also are there any restrictions on which calibers to shoot?

You posted this on PoliTalk, so I'm guessing this thread is about Honey traps in the DC Swamp and how they relate to Epstein's Pedo Island.

Honey Island Swamp Shooting Range
This should have all of the info you need.
The range is open.
As far as calibers, I've fired everything from a .22 to .303 there with no issues. I've seen some people with .50 BMG there before.

Others Q's have been answered...
to #2 I say YES! I've only seen the DNR guys out there once over the last 5 years or so, they were in the parking lot for the range wanting to see your license!
$22 for a basic fish license is a lot cheaper than any paper the DNR will hand you.

We used to go to Sherburne WMA, which has the same requirements. What we learned was this- there is (or was, don't know anymore) a cheap 'cane pole' fishing license, something like $2 or $4 for the year. Can't fish with anything with a reel, but allowed for tying a line to a big bamboo cane.
This would cover for having a 'fishing license', and thus allow you onto WMA grounds.
Used to be able to buy this online at La WLF site, and print out the license/receipt which was good for a year. Want to say it was July to July, you might want to check and make sure of the dates.
EDIT TO ADD:
Yes.
These are excerpts from the site:

To recap (based on the dozens of questions received on this single issue each month):
EVERY person over the age of 15 who enters a WMA in Louisiana must have a valid hunting or fishing license or a Wild Louisiana Stamp. Having one in the car is not enough if there is more than one person over 15 in the car. If you have a valid license, your wife may not ride in the car with you through the WMA to the range. She will be ticketed by a wildlife officer if she is on the property without a license.
You do not have to show this to anyone at the Honey Island Range. IT IS NOT OUR RULE! You will only have to show it to a wildlife officer while on WMA property if requested to do so. Do not think that just because there is not an officer at the entrance gate to the WMA you will be safe to drive into the WMA without a license. They often put up road blocks in the WMA to check for licenses, particularly during hunting season. On at least one occasion, an officer has ticketed shooters in our parking lot!
You do not need to also have the WMA permit to shoot at the range. This is only required to hunt in the WMA.
There is no waiver of the requirement to have a valid license for police officers or other groups of people. Not even the range officers of the Honey Island Range are exempted; we must purchase a license as well. Any license will do, as long as it is from Louisiana and is valid (not expired).
A cane pole license is just as good as the most expensive hunting license.
No, a Mississippi license will not substitute (nor will a license from any other state). Yes, if you are from Mississippi (or some other state), you still must have a valid Louisiana hunting or fishing license or a Wild Louisiana Stamp. The LDWF is forcing you to "pay a tax" to use the WMA.
Before sending a question, ask yourself this question: Am I over 15, breathing, and on WMA property? If the answer to all of these questions is "yes," then you need a valid license.
